Showcasing our recent vibro compaction scheme!

We are proud to showcase our recently completed vibro compaction scheme at London Gateway.

The scheme involved vibro compaction to densify more than 230,000 m3 of recently placed, reclaimed material predominantly behind a new quay wall. The material comprised deep granular fill, requiring treatment depths of up to 19 metres. The site team and operations staff worked weekends and night shifts at key points during the works, to keep within programme, site logistics and significant tidal constraints. This project is the second time that we have worked on this development, having first undertaken vibro compaction on an earlier phase to improve reclaimed land in summer 2011.
